Goole produced a fine performance at Westfield Banks on Saturday to
secure a well deserved 13-9
win over rivals Pocklington and banish
the demons from a 62-10 drubbing at Pocklington
earlier in the season. On a heavy pitch Goole played to their strengths. In the
forwards Phil Jackson led the way with a dominant performance and he was well
supported by Mark Woodall, Sam Atkinson, Ollie White and Dave Walton. They
totally dominated the scrum and had the opposition pack under all sorts of
pressure and did not allow Pock to settle into their catch and drive game at
the lineout. Goole used possession well, their ball retention was solid and
some of the forward interplay defied the rain and wind. All in all a positive
performance – well done lads…
Goole U7s and U8s attended the ER Festival on Sunday. The U7s won 3
out of 5 of their games but the U8s went one better winning all their games to
win a non competitive festival. The U8s remain unbeaten this year and have
scored a hatful of tries.
